Electrical Project Manager

The Electrical Project Manager is a supervisory role with the ability to get out from behind the desk sometimes, check on electricians in the field, and talk to established customers. An electrical license is preferred but not required. The successful candidate must have field experience installing, coordinating, or managing electrical installations and exceptional initiative, execution, and communication skills.

  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license.

Prerequisite for employment: Complete and/or pass the ICC F16 Journeyman Exam on NEC 2014 guidelines or have an Iowa electrical license. Applicants’ experience can also include ownership of a prior electrical business to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist crews on other projects that may have questions on installations.
  • Maintain Project timelines and projections.
  • Manage multiple projects from bid to close
  • Experience with MS Office, specifically Excel, Google & One Drive
  • Effectively set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Telephone etiquette, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities
  • Use learned industry knowledge to offer solutions to various obstacles that may arise while on the job site.
  • Interact with the customer to validate that expectations are understood and met before, during, and after project completion.
  • Assist Master Electrician with project implementation and possible estimation of projects
  • Instruct employees in proper electrical methods
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Understand and comply with NEC
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with DATA (Communications) is a plus but not required
  • Collaborate with vendors to provide on-time quotes
  • 3+ years of electrical and project management experience preferred
